Helvellyn Cottages are located in Glenridding in Cumbria – home of the Lake District. I’m sure most of you are more than familiar with the lakes, but for anyone needing a refresher, here is a quick overview!
The Lake District, also known as The Lakes or Lakeland, is a rural area in North West England. It has been a popular holiday destination since Victorian times, and the historical associations with the likes of the Wordsworths and Beatrix Potter are strong, especially around Windermere and Grasmere. As well as the beauty of the lakes themselves, the are is renowned for its majestic fells, with all the land in England higher then 3000 ft lying in the Lake District National Park.
Cumbria also has spectacular a western coastline and many beautiful beaches and is an ideal holiday destination for families.
