1 Helvellyn Cottage is a two bedroomed end of terrace old miners cottage. It has recently been fully refurbished to provide traditional accommodation but with the mod cons that one would expect in the 21st century to help you make the most of your Lake District holiday. The cottage next door is also available.
Downstairs
Open plan living room and dining room, with two 2 seater leather sofas, a magnificent wood burning stove in a large fireplace (for which we provide an initial supply of wood) a mahogany dining table and 4 chairs. There is a large plasma TV with freeview satellite, a DVD player, CD and tape player and an excellent selection of books, maps, games and DVDs to help you plan your days and while away the evenings.
The fully fitted Kitchen, has an electric hob and oven, stainless steel sink and draining board, the original kitchen fire mantelpiece, and plenty of cupboard space. There are a good range of pots, pans and kitchen utensils to ensure you can self cater in style. There is also a small separate utility room with a microwave, large fridge/freezer and a washing machine.
Upstairs
Front double Bedroom, with double bed, wardrobe and dressing table, with wonderful views of the fells from the window. The bedroom also has a TV for watching DVDs in bed. The smaller twin bedroom at the rear has two full size single beds. The bathroom has been recently renovated with a bath, overhead power shower, sink and toilet and heated towel rail.
Heating throughout is provided by oil fired central heating and all the windows are double glazed.
Outside
Number 1 Helvellyn Cottage has a wonderful fully enclosed garden at the side with magnificent views of the fells and towards Ullswater. There is a patio area with table and chairs to enjoy the sunshine or relax after a hard day on the fells. There is off street parking for at least one car at the side of the cottages.
